Originally introduced as a treatment for trauma, we have found EMDR to be very useful for all types of anxiety problems, and just for relieving stress generally. Using a very simple technique, clients can easily learn to process feelings of being “stuck” and move on in ways they may not have been able to before.
Many times in life we know exactly what we should be doing, and we just don’t do it. We should eat better, we should exercise more, etc., and we never really understand why we have so much difficulty doing these things. We may never understand the deep, unconscious reasons for our inaction, but using EMDR, we can get beyond this anyway. We can get past the deep-seated emotions that keep us stuck and actually live the way we choose to live. We can exercise the freedom that is truly ours. |
